FBX Export Settings

General

Note: If there are problems loading FBX files, this may be due to the fact that these FBX files may have been written with older FBX versions. On the Autodesk website you can download the FBX Converter, which converts older formats into newer ones.
Note 2: When exporting rigged characters, to ensure that the bind pose and other poses can be generated correctly when reimporting to Cinema 4D or importing into other programs, all joint objects should be included in the corresponding weighting tag and set in all poses.

Exporting can be canceled at any time by pressing the ESC key.

Coordinate System

The objects from Cinema 4D are converted to the right-hand system, meshes and the direction of rotation of the polygons are corrected accordingly.

Scaling

The Cinema 4D scene scaling is also saved in FBX files - therefore there is no separate export setting for this.

Parametric Objects

All parametric objects are converted into polygon objects.

Lights

Spotlights, round spotlights and parallel light can be converted directly. Fine details such as acceptance etc., cannot be set. The following assignment applies to the types that cannot be mapped:

Square Spotlight, parallel spotlight (round), parallel spotlight (square) -\ Round spotlight

Distance -\ Directional or parallel

Tube, surface -\ point

If a Null object was inserted above the light during import, it is automatically removed again during export.

Environment object

The environment color is exported.

Object Visibility

The Renderer Visibility setting (lower gray, green or red dot in the Object Manager) is saved as visibility.
